Joint Meeting of IBS-British Region and the Environmental Statistics Section of the RSS

“Climate Change Impacts”

This jointly organised meeting is taking place on Monday 17th October at the Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX. The meeting is due to start at 11am with a break for lunch between 12.30pm and 2pm, and the meeting is expected to finish at 5.30pm.

Individual abstracts for the talks are not yet available, but will be placed on the IBS-BR web-site when they are available. The RSS ESS produced abstract for the whole meeting is:

“Under the influence of increasing greenhouse gases we expect the climate to change over the next century. How will a changing climate impact our lives? This meeting will address this issue and will look at effects on health, agriculture, fisheries and flooding. Speakers will include Sari Kovats (LSHTM), Chris Thomas (University of Durham), Goetz Richter (Rothamsted Research), Alan Reese (CEFAS) and Nick Rayner (CEH).”

The meeting will provide an interesting extension to the “Climate Change” invited session included within the Multi-Regional Conference in April earlier this year.

Please note that there is no need to register in advance for this meeting, but that this means that lunch is not being provided at the RSS as part of the meeting. It should be possible to bring your own lunch and eat at the RSS – alternatively there are a number of local pubs.
