Meetings

We promotes several scientific meetings each year. Usually these are held in London, but they may be held anywhere in the Region. With a discipline as wide as biometry, meetings are often held jointly with other bodies; for example: SEGEG, PSI or the RSS. We are keen to co-promote more scientific meetings, in particular with non-statistical associations representing the disciplines within which Biometry is practiced.

Members of the committee are always keen to discuss ideas for scientific meetings, whether collaborative or not. Please feel free to contact any of those listed with your suggestions or enquiries.

Whilst we do not publish an annual diary, members of the region are kept up to date through the regional newsletter, individual mailings and this web-site. Non-members have access to meeting information on this website and meetings are routinely advertsied on Allstat and on other relevant discussion boards.

Meetings are publicised on this web-site including a brief abstract. Where we are able to obtain the presenter's permission, we aim also to publish the slides and/or notes shortly after the meeting.

We request that attendees register in advance for most of our meetings; this helps to avoid overcrowding. We ask you to follow the directions for registration for each individual meeting. It is not currently feasible to register on-line. We make a modest charge for some of our meetings; this will usually be to cover the provision of a meal and/or refreshments, or may conribute towards the cost of hiring the venue.
